Daria Rae isn’t holding back. The former Sonya Deville turned TNA executive The Suit just dropped a major behind-the-scenes revelation about her WWE run—and yes, Vince McMahon is directly involved.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Daria was told point blank by Dave LaGreca and Bully Ray that WWE didn’t use her to her full potential. Both hosts felt the company missed a major opportunity after her run as an on-screen authority figure. Bully then asked whether she agreed with that take and if she planned to speak up more creatively now that she’s in TNA. She didn’t hesitate to set the record straight—and she even shared what Vince McMahon said to her after the fact. According to Daria, Vince himself admitted they blew it.
“I had a conversation with Vince once. It was after my GM run. And I think after my GM run was the biggest chance to make me a star because I had so much freaking heat. Put me against a good babyface, run a long angle… and give me something to work with.”
“And I remember he said after that, like, ‘We dropped the ball with that.’ And you know, and I don't know why, and I don't know how.”
Despite the missed opportunity, Daria said she doesn’t dwell on the frustration. Instead, she sees it as part of the journey that led her to where she is now in TNA.
“It's so hard for me to argue that I agree with you, but it's so hard for me to say anything because everything happens for a reason. I wouldn’t be here if that didn’t happen.”
When asked whether she planned to be more creatively outspoken in TNA, Daria made it clear that she already was vocal in WWE—but sometimes it wasn’t well received.
“I was that vocal in WWE. Maybe to my detriment, I was. I was always humble. But I was very vocal about like, give me the damn microphone, I can cut a promo.”
She doubled down on what she believes is her biggest strength—and how she tried pitching herself internally.
“If you need to get a new babyface over, put me out there with them, give me the mic. They’ll hate me in two seconds. They’ll love them in two seconds. Like, I can make that happen.”
Now, in TNA, she says that same energy is finally being heard—and welcomed.
“That was where my confidence was. And that's what I would tell WWE. And the difference in TNA is there's a mutual soundboard… they listen.”
Daria Berenato isn’t rewriting history—she’s calling it like she lived it. And with her confidence on full display and a creative leash she never had in WWE, her second act may end up being the one people remember most.
