AEW Dynamite on July 30 brought violence, blood, and one jaw-dropping moment from Darby Allin that left fans stunned.
The second hour of the Chicago show opened with a brutal AEW World Championship match as Hangman Page defended his title against Jon Moxley. The match was exactly what you’d expect from these two—chaotic, physical, and bloody. Moxley even drove Hangman head-first into the steel ring steps with a vicious piledriver that split the champion open.
But the moment that had everyone on their feet didn’t come from either man in the ring. After the referee was taken out, chaos erupted. Despite ringside being banned, the Death Riders hit the scene, trying to give Moxley the edge. That’s when Darby Allin made his presence felt in a way only he can—by launching himself off a balcony like a human missile.
With security trying to drag the Death Riders out, Darby dove from high above and crashed onto the pile below in a moment that had the entire Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom erupting. It was a true car crash moment—raw, reckless, and 100% Darby.
Back in the ring, Hangman Page survived the carnage. He hit a Dead Eye and followed it up with two Buckshot Lariats to put Moxley down clean, retaining the AEW World Title.
Darby Allin may not have been scheduled for the match, but he sure made an impact. His balcony dive added another layer of chaos to a match already on fire and reminded everyone why he’s one of AEW’s most fearless stars.
What did you think of Darby Allin’s wild dive and Hangman’s title defense? Is this the kind of unhinged drama AEW needs more of? Sound off in the comments and let us know.
