Darby Allin’s stock continues to rise with every passing week and many fans feel it’s simply a matter of time before he becomes the AEW World Champion. Sting shares this sentiment as he predicted that Allin will capture the World Title next year and now Darby Allin has addressed Sting’s prediction.
During AEW All In Texas: Countdown to On Sale, Sting made a surprise appearance and joined Darby Allin on stage, where he praised Darby Allin, confidently predicting that he would become the AEW World Champion in 2025. Sting pointed out Allin’s growth over the years and even believed that Allin might win the title at All In 2025, potentially held at Globe Life Field.
“You, I’ve always known from day one, you are world championship caliber. I knew from the very beginning. Yeah, you had to come up some, and you’ve come up a ton in the last few years. But I knew that you would someday become the world heavyweight champion. Sometime in 2025, I am predicting this is the future AEW World Champion right here. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be world champion at Globe Life, 2025, at All In.”
While speaking during an interview with Denise Salcedo, Darby Allin talked about Sting’s prediction that he’ll become AEW World Champion in 2025. Allin said the title means a lot because it shows what AEW can do for someone like him, who wasn’t expected to be a top star.
Allin explained that being himself and having freedom in AEW helped him connect with fans. Allin wants to win the championship to proudly represent AEW. He compared it to his goal of climbing Mount Everest and then making history at Globe Life Field.
“When I think of being world champion, it represents what this company can do for somebody and I feel like there’s no better spokesperson for this company than me as an AEW original considering I was never supposed to be the guy. Through the freedom and just naturally being me, I’ve naturally just gotten over with people. I think to be the guy holding the world championship and representing this company, it’s very very special thing that I want to represent. I think it’s just like a test to climb Mount Everest, come back down, and then walk into Global Life Field and rock. That’s like my whole memo.”
For the time being, Darby Allin is focused on conquering Mount Everest and he will begin his trek in April next year. Therefore, fans will have to wait and see whether Tony Khan will decide to have Darby Allin become the World Champion next year, as he could most certainly dethrone Jon Moxley for the title at AEW All In Texas in 2025.
