Danielle Moinet, better known to WWE fans as Summer Rae, hasn’t been a full-time part of the company since her release in 2017, but wrestling is still very much in her blood. The former WWE star recently opened up about her passion for the business and admitted that stepping back into the ring is something she thinks about often.

During an interview with Talksport, Danielle reflected on her time with WWE and revealed how much she still feels tied to the company despite being away for years.

“Oh my gosh. So, I was with WWE for six years, which is a good solid run. And I’ve been gone a little bit, went back three years ago for the Royal Rumble. They did not have an all women’s Royal Rumble when I was growing up, and it was my dream. It was everything I wanted to do. We were on the road, gosh, a good 300 days a year. It’s completely nonstop, but when it’s what you’ve wanted to do, it doesn’t feel like work. And I’m still very good friends with a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys in WWE, and I still watch it avidly. I’m such a big fan, and it’s just a part of me. It always will be. And, um, you know, I get the itch to go back all the time.”

Danielle’s WWE career began in 2011 when she was signed to a developmental deal. She rose to fame on the main roster as Summer Rae, serving as Fandango’s dance partner before making her mark in the women’s division. Over her six years with the company, she competed against stars like Natalya, Paige, and Charlotte Flair, while also being featured in major storylines on RAW and SmackDown.

Her run came to an end in October 2017 when WWE announced her release as part of roster cuts. Since then, she has kept a lighter wrestling schedule, making sporadic appearances on the independent scene and returning to WWE for the 2022 Royal Rumble, where she received a strong reaction from fans.

Even though she’s built a life outside of wrestling, it’s clear the WWE experience still holds a special place in her heart. With WWE continuing to expand opportunities for women, fans will no doubt speculate on whether another comeback could be in her future.

Do you think Danielle Moinet should make a WWE return, even for another Royal Rumble appearance, or is her chapter in wrestling already complete? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
