D-Von Dudley is ready to slam the door on his legendary wrestling career — and he’s doing it in the most Dudley way possible: with one last tables match against The Hardy Boyz.
At TNA Bound For Glory on October 12 in Lowell, Massachusetts, The Dudley Boyz will collide with The Hardy Boyz in a tag team tables match with the TNA and NXT Tag Team Titles on the line. It’s more than just a nostalgia brawl — this will be D-Von Dudley’s final match.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of the Boston Herald, D-Von revealed the truth about his original retirement in 2016 and why this match means everything to him now.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to go out there and wrestle for one last time. Vince McMahon wanted me to retire and be a producer in WWE, which is why I originally retired [in 2016]. I’m healthy, I’m ready, and this is my chance to finally go out on my terms.”
While some fans have questioned whether the match should happen, Bubba Ray Dudley shut that down with no hesitation.
“For those who don’t think this is a good idea, they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. This is about the two most decorated and iconic tag teams of all time going out there one last time. People still talk about our match at Madison Square Garden from 25 years ago. We’re going to create a new memory in our final table match.”
D-Von agreed, adding that they aren’t trying to outdo their past — they just want to close the chapter the right way.
“We’re not going to reinvent the wheel here. We already did that. But we know how to create something legendary, and that’s what we’re going to do.”
Jeff Hardy weighed in too, saying it’s crazy that they’re all still going through tables decades later — but it’s exactly what the fans expect.
“It was madness back then. Now we’re near the end of our careers, but we’re still out here going through tables and jumping off ladders, which is insane. This match in Lowell is going to be extreme – it has to be. We owe that to the fans.”
One final fight. One last table. And one more memory between two of wrestling’s most iconic tag teams.
