D-Von Dudley is proud of Batista’s acting success—but he’s got a playful bone to pick with his former on-screen partner.
Speaking on Devon & The Duke, D-Von opened up about watching Dave Bautista go from “Deacon Batista” to big-screen icon—and while he’s got nothing but love for his friend’s success, he jokingly called for a little payback.
“He just one good movie after the other. I think I might have seen all of them and I haven’t been disappointed yet.”
According to D-Von, Batista’s rise didn’t happen overnight. He found his groove, evolved into a true performer, and embraced the superstar path WWE originally envisioned for him.
“He found himself. He was able to become what they wanted him to become. He became a star.”
And now that Batista’s Hollywood resume includes Guardians of the Galaxy, Dune, Knock at the Cabin, and more? D-Von wants a little something in return—for the good of the Lord, of course. He didn’t stop there. The WWE Hall of Famer made it clear that Batista might be overdue for a little spiritual contribution.
“I still got a doorknob to get. I got some stained glass windows I gotta get… Maybe 10% of your movie earnings you can give back to Reverend D-Von!”
“The church needs a fixing. It needs renovation. I don’t have Mr. McMahon anymore as my benefactor… He ain’t been to church in some years, so he’s got a lot of tithing to do. Just saying.”
All jokes aside, D-Von made it clear he’s proud to see Batista thrive—and being part of that journey means everything to him.
“Kudos to him with his movie career, his wrestling career… overall, he’s a great guy. I like him. I don’t have any beef with him. I was so happy that I was able to help him and be a part of that with him.”
From the church collection plate to the box office, it’s been one wild ride.
