The burner account drama surrounding AEW President Tony Khan has reached the ears of some familiar veterans—and one of them didn’t hold back.

On the latest episode of Devon & The Duke, WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley weighed in on allegations that Khan may have used a fake X/Twitter account to go after critics. The accusations came from sports and entertainment agent Nick LoPiccolo, and the conversation quickly turned to how very different Vince McMahon would have handled things. Duke broke down the situation during the show:

“Tony Khan has been accused of utilizing burner accounts. Instead of using his main social media account on X, he’s been using burner accounts to go after people he doesn’t like. He was exposed by Nick LoPiccolo... a top agent in sports and entertainment. Nick has criticized Tony a lot, and through these accounts, things have been said to him that made him go, ‘Hold on, a regular fan wouldn’t know that.’”

Duke then revealed he may have been targeted by one of those same accounts:

“People dug up tweets going back to 2021, where one of those accounts was going after me. And I remember thinking, ‘Why is this account so obsessed?’ I muted it because it got so weird. And now I look at it and think... damn, was that Tony Khan?”

That led to a moment of disbelief over Khan’s rumored behavior, especially given his role as a high-powered executive:

“If it was him, that’s unfortunate. You’re a billionaire. You’ve got the Jacksonville Jaguars, Fulham FC, AEW, Ring of Honor. You have so much going on. Why are you fussing with me on X about diversity?”

D-Von added some levity, but didn’t shy away from pointing out how strange it all sounded:

“You better watch yourself, Devon, because some of those burner accounts might be Tony talking to you.”

The discussion then turned to how Vince McMahon might have handled a situation like this. The comparison was brutal and direct:

“Can you imagine Vince McMahon doing that? Taking time out of his busy-ass schedule to straighten out some fans online?”

D-Von didn’t hesitate, “No. No way. Vince would never.” While neither man said definitively that Khan was behind the burner account, both made it clear that if true, it raises serious questions about professionalism. D-Von kept it respectful throughout, but made one thing very clear—this kind of social media drama wouldn’t fly in Vince’s world.

Whether this is another case of overactive online speculation or a legitimate PR issue, it’s clear the story isn’t going away anytime soon. AEW has not issued a statement about the accusations, and Tony Khan has not responded publicly.
