TNA is absolutely riding a wave of momentum right thanks to their partnership with WWE and now D-Von Dudley has explained what TNA needs to truly become the #2 wrestling company.
While speaking on his YouTube channel, D-Von Dudley stated that TNA looks like it might be becoming the number two company in wrestling. He said AEW still delivers great matches on Dynamite, but currently only has one major storyline that truly has fans’ attention.
“TNA is becoming, it seems like the number two company now. I mean, again, AEW is having some great matches on Dynamite, but storyline-wise, there’s like one storyline that I think everybody’s interested in.”
When asked what TNA needs to do to fully secure the number two spot, D-Von said they need to stay consistent, keep their current booking direction, and deliver more big “wow” moments.
Dudley pointed to how bringing the Dudleys and Hardys back together created hype and drew real interest. He believes TNA needs more moments like that to keep building momentum.
“Stay consistent. Continue to have that booking that you’ve been having and give me more wow moments. I don’t know how you do it, but give me more of those moments. Give me more of those moments that you got when you got the Dudleys and the Hardys one last time, because it was making news. It was really getting people’s interest.”
D-Von added that consistency over the next one or two years is key. He admitted that TNA has struggled with inconsistency lately, but he believes it’s less of an issue now compared to what’s going on in AEW. According to him, if they maintain this direction, fans will really start to see a shift in the landscape.
“Give me that consistency that stays there for the next year or two and that’s when I think it’ll change. That’s when you’re going to really see it. There is that inconsistency that plagues TNA as well. Yeah, but I don’t think it does as much as in AEW.”
This comes after even Chris Jericho recently stated that TNA Bound for Glory made the promotion look like a bigger company than AEW. So it’s clear TNA has a lot of attention now.
With help from WWE, growing fan interest, and big names speaking positively about the company, it’s in its best spot in a long time. If TNA keeps making big moments and continues telling strong stories, they could end up becoming the clear #2 wrestling company soon, so we’ll have to see if that will happen in the end.
