Brad Schwartz isn’t holding back his admiration for the WWE NXT women’s division.
During his appearance at the 2025 Sports Business Journal Media Innovators conference, the CW Network president praised the female roster of NXT—going so far as to say they’re outperforming the men. Schwartz spoke at length about The CW’s recent push into live sports, especially after adding NXT to the schedule in 2024. As the brand continues to deliver weekly action, Schwartz singled out the women as the standout feature.
“I think the women of NXT are better than the men,” Schwartz said. “The women’s division of NXT is probably the strongest in all of WWE wrestling.”
The CW’s move to bring in NXT was all part of a bigger strategy to boost live programming and build consistent weekly viewership. Schwartz explained that the partnership with WWE gives them reliable Tuesday night content year-round—something that’s rare in television.
“What NXT offered us was the opportunity to have live-event programming 52 weeks a year on a Tuesday night,” Schwartz said. “And so that was a really, really big move for us. We can try and turn these wrestlers into stars, we can market it, we can promote it, we can put the whole machine of Nexstar behind getting people to watch it and know that the value of that growth comes back to us for the next five years.”
As the Gold Rush 2025 special kicks off tonight in New York City, NXT is once again in the spotlight—and it’s clear the CW Network is fully behind the brand’s rise, especially its women’s division.
