Current Status of WWE NXT Event for SummerSlam Weekend

SummerSlam will be held in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on August 2 and 3, 2025 and  WWE will ensure the Premium Live Event will be a memorable one. However, quite a few fans wonder if NXT will hold an event during SummerSlam weekend and now NXT’s status for that weekend has been revealed.

While speaking during a Q&A session, WrestleVotes was asked if there is any information about NXT doing an event during SummerSlam weekend in August this year.

WrestleVotes noted that as of now, NXT will not be involved in anything tied to SummerSlam weekend. They do have their own event scheduled for the end of August and the date and location for the event aren’t known yet, but it will not be tied to SummerSlam weekend.

“No, NXT will not be doing anything tied into SummerSlam weekend as of now. They do have their own event—it will be taking place at the end of August and we’re looking to nail down the date and location for that—but no, it will not be tied into SummerSlam weekend.”

NXT’s next Premium Live Event is Battleground on May 25th and WWE has already booked a solid card for the event. However, fans will have to accept the fact that NXT will not hold an event during SummerSlam weekend.

With NXT Battleground coming soon and another event planned for late August, NXT is clearly moving forward on its own path. While fans might miss having a full WWE weekend, there’s still a lot to enjoy across all three brands.
