If you were hoping to play for WWE’s newly introduced Women’s Intercontinental and U.S. Championships in WWE 2K25 right out of the gate, you’re out of luck—for now.

WWE 2K25 dev Bryan Williams confirmed in an interview with JustBryan that the game will not include the new women’s championships at launch, but there are ongoing talks about adding them in a future update. “They will not, those titles will not be in the game come the release of 2K25,” Williams said. “Now, not to upset anybody, but the fact of the matter is that, when those titles were introduced, they were introduced way late in our development cycle.”

The Women’s Intercontinental and U.S. Championships were unveiled in late 2024, with Lyra Valkyria winning the IC title and Chelsea Green capturing the U.S. gold. The timing, according to Williams, made it nearly impossible to include them at launch. “Had these been introduced maybe even four months earlier, it would have been in for sure. It’s just a matter of our schedule versus how WWE operates.”

But there’s still hope. Williams explained that the team is working on a solution: “We are having discussions right now to see if we could potentially add these titles post-launch as another update. One of our title updates where the Women’s U.S. and IC titles can be added into the game because we hear all the chatter. Trust us.”

With WWE 2K25 set to release on March 14—and early access available a week before with The Deadman Edition—fans won’t have to wait long to jump into the action. Whether these titles make it in post-launch remains to be seen, but it sounds like 2K is paying attention.

What do you think—should WWE 2K25 have found a way to include the new women’s titles at launch, or is waiting for a future update fair? Drop your thoughts below!
