Crazzy Steve made an unexpected appearance at AEW’s tapings in Nashville, competing in a dark match against Serpentico. The former TNA Tag Team Champion and Digital Media Champion hasn’t been seen in TNA Wrestling since last spring, making his AEW debut a major surprise.
What’s raising even more speculation is that contracted TNA talent are not allowed to work with AEW, yet Steve is still listed on TNA’s official website. This led many to question whether he was still part of the company or if this was a sign of something bigger.
According to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, Crazzy Steve and TNA quietly parted ways last year on good terms. Sources inside TNA confirmed that there are currently no plans for his return, but also made it clear that he was well-liked within the company.
During his time with TNA, Steve built a reputation as a unique and unpredictable performer, standing out in Decay alongside Abyss and Rosemary and later capturing both tag team gold and the Digital Media Championship. His departure from TNA was never officially announced, leaving the door open for speculation about his next move.
With Steve now wrestling in AEW, it’s unclear if this was a one-time appearance or if he’s working toward something more permanent. With AEW expanding its roster and TNA currently working closely with WWE NXT, the landscape of professional wrestling continues to shift.
