Corey Graves’ rollercoaster few weeks in WWE may finally be stabilizing. After speculation about his status following cryptic social media posts and a sudden absence from TV, it looks like Graves is set to return to the NXT commentary desk sooner rather than later.
According to Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan, Graves is listed for commentary on tonight’s WWE NXT and is expected to be at the WWE Performance Center for rehearsals ahead of the show. This update comes just hours after PWInsider reported that Graves would not be at the taping, adding another twist to an already chaotic situation.
Sean Ross Sapp also weighed in on Fightful Select, noting that Graves has had a “tumultuous last couple of weeks” since returning to the NXT announce desk at New Year’s Evil. After expressing his frustrations about the move on social media, he was pulled from the following week’s episode, fueling speculation about his WWE future.
“There has been no indication from Graves or those close to him that this situation is a work,” Sapp added, shutting down theories that the entire ordeal was part of a storyline.
Graves’ cryptic tweets and absence from WWE programming had fans speculating whether he was done with the company, but reports suggest he hasn’t been fired and isn’t looking to leave. While WWE was reportedly unhappy with how his comments were perceived, it now appears they’re moving forward with him back at the desk for NXT.
Whether Graves remains a fixture on NXT or eventually returns to RAW or SmackDown is still up in the air, but his expected appearance tonight could be the first step in putting this entire situation behind him.
