Ryback thought that Baron Corbin’s cash-in attempt from Smackdown Live last week had a sour odour to it, and with SummerSlam occurring on Sunday, this cash-in attempt came at a strange time. He’s unsure if Corbin has any backstage heat, but this failed cash-in certainly makes it look that way.
Ryback says that former WWE performers can basically return to the company at any point they want. Buck agrees and says it’s nearly impossible to burn bridges in the professional wrestling business. Ryback adds that talents need to stop being scared little ‘bitches’ in terms of talking about the company because if they want, they can go back at any point.
Ryback and Buck discuss the ongoing drama in GFW regarding Alberto Del Rio being stripped of the GFW Title. Ryback says he likes Del Rio personally and he thought this situation was handled well by all parties involved. Buck points out that if Del Rio actually didn’t do anything wrong, GFW was in a tough situation here because there are contracts involved. Luckily for the company, Del Rio took things into his own hands and made this situation disappear.
Buck points out that Anthem’s owner has more money than Vince McMahon, so if there was ever an opportunity for a wrestling promotion to succeed, this is it. Ryback says that GFW’s priority right now needs to be finding a new television deal in North America. PopTV is simply not good enough, and until they find a more credible network to air their programming, they won’t be able to grow.
