Ryback says the days are very long in the backstage area for the GM’s or authority figures, who just have to sit around with the writers all day and stare are their lines. He’s sure that Angle is happy to be back in WWE in front of the WWE Universe, but wrestling is definitely his end goal.
Speaking about Enzo Amore’s transition to 205 Live, Ryback thinks Amore can give that brand a boost. He points out that whatever heat Amore has backstage, it’s not enough to get him fired. Buck points out that Amore’s segments do well with ratings, and his merchandise sales as good as well.
Ryback says that maybe WWE is punishing Amore by having him stay on the road for 5 days a week now instead of 4. He adds that when you’re on the road for 4 days a week the schedule is manageable, but when you’re doing 5 days a week you just want to kill yourself.
A listener calls into the show and asks Ryback about Miz’s ‘cowardly style’ in the ring, and the notion that Miz doesn’t want to take big bumps. Ryback says he’s never heard that Miz refuses to take big bumps. He worked with Miz on many occasions and although he mightn’t be the biggest or strongest guy, he has the ability to ‘turn it on’ with the best of them, and more importantly he has heart.
