Concerns about WrestleMania’s build took center stage on the Coach & Bro Show, where Vince Russo and Jonathan Coachman tore into WWE’s creative direction and questioned whether enough real storylines are in place heading into the company’s biggest show of the year.

The discussion focused heavily on what they see as a lack of meaningful stories leading into WrestleMania. Jonathan Coachman pointed out that matches appear to be getting added without strong angles behind them, warning that without real buildup, the card risks feeling hollow.

“They're going to throw matches out there to fill that number that have no storylines or no juice whatsoever.”

Vince Russo then doubled down, arguing that the weekly television leading into WrestleMania has been built around the same repeated segments instead of layered storytelling. He claimed the formula has become predictable, relying mostly on confrontations rather than developing long-term narratives.

“That's filler. Seven matches — Triple H is saying seven matches are filler. If we don't have those matches by this point in time, then that is filler. Coach, listen… I'm watching highlights of both of these shows. There are two things that they're doing — either a brawl or a face-to-face promo. That's it. That's the road to WrestleMania. There is not one single story. It's either a brawl or we're going to have a face-to-face promo. That is it. And now you're going to have seven matches that are going to be nothing but filler.”

The criticism centered on the belief that WrestleMania storylines should already feel established at this stage. Instead, Russo argued that the lack of defined narratives could lead to matches that feel thrown together rather than built through compelling storytelling.

With WrestleMania drawing closer, WWE still has time to strengthen its biggest angles, but comments like these reflect growing frustration among critics who believe the road to WrestleMania should feel driven by stories, not repetition.
