Cody Rhodes is the current Undisputed WWE World Champion, and he has a ton of fan support. That doesn’t mean that he is going to work every Monday. In fact, he hasn’t wrestled much in 2025 on television at all.
Cody Rhodes’ in-ring work on WWE Monday Night RAW during this period was minimal, and that stands out. WWE did not use him as a regular weekly wrestler on the brand, and when he did appear, it was either for a specific storyline purpose or off camera entirely.
According to Cagematch.net, The only televised RAW match Cody wrestled in this stretch happened on June 23, when he defeated Jey Uso in a King of the Ring semifinal. That match mattered because it directly advanced a major tournament and moved Cody closer to the finals.
Every other appearance Cody made on RAW during this time was a dark match. On March 24, 2025, he teamed with CM Punk and Rey Mysterio to face The Judgment Day before the show went live. One week earlier, on March 17, 2025, he wrestled Dominik Mysterio in another dark match, again performing only for the live crowd in attendance.
Earlier in the year, Cody defended the Undisputed WWE Championship twice in RAW dark matches against Carmelo Hayes, once in January and again in February. Both title defenses took place off television, so they were only for fans in the building.
SmackDown was clearly Cody’s home base in 2025. He wrestled there nine times, with most of those matches airing on the show, including title matches, tournament bouts, and key tag matches. If you wanted to actually see Cody wrestle on weekly TV, SmackDown was where it happened.
Looking at how often Cody actually wrestled on RAW, it is very clear that WWE treated his in-ring appearances as controlled and intentional. The company has a lot riding on him staying healthy, and his Street Fighter filming schedule also called him away for a bit.
When you break down the numbers, Cody Rhodes wrestled 32 matches in 2025, and WWE was clearly selective about where he worked. Most of his in ring time happened on big stages, with eight matches taking place on pay per view or premium live events like WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Money in the Bank, and Survivor Series.
Outside of TV and pay per view, the rest of Cody’s matches came on house shows, special tours, and events like Saturday Night’s Main Event. Those appearances helped keep him active without overexposing him on weekly television. Overall, WWE treated Cody more like a special attraction in 2025.
We will have to see how many times Cody Rhodes wrestles on RAW in 2026. He certainly hasn’t been the work horse that he once was, but he also has a much different role in the company.
