Cody Rhodes may have bested Randy Orton in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament at WWE Night of Champions, but he doesn’t think their story is over—not by a long shot.

In a new interview with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Rhodes reflected on the clash with his former Legacy teammate and revealed he’s got much bigger plans in mind when it comes to Orton.

“Randy and I have a lot of history. We could do a six-month program that leads to WrestleMania. There is a lot of meat on the bone.”

He explained that the structure of the King of the Ring tournament offered a different kind of buildup for their match, but the real drama between the two is still waiting to unfold.

“It was a different type of build here with the tournament, with a whole different set of stakes. I like the stakes of the tournament with the main event of SummerSlam on the line. I think we’ll get into our history down the road, too.”

The Legacy history runs deep—Rhodes and Orton go back to 2008, and now, nearly two decades later, they’re squaring off on the biggest stage once again.

By beating Orton, Rhodes earned a shot at John Cena and the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam—one of the biggest matches of his career. And Rhodes knows it.

“This is uncharted and undiscovered in terms of what I envisioned for myself and WWE. For my time here, this is the cherry on top. It’s a really special time.”

As Rhodes gears up to face Cena, Orton will be stepping into a wild tag team match alongside Jelly Roll against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul at the same event.

Cody’s win may have put him in the main event at SummerSlam, but if his words are any indication, we might be seeing a full-blown Cody vs. Orton feud on the road to WrestleMania next year.
