Cody Rhodes may not be done for the night — and he made that clear with a message posted while SmackDown was still on the air.
After being brutally attacked in the opening segment of the April 3 episode of SmackDown, Rhodes took to social media midway through the broadcast and hinted that he plans to respond before the night is over.
Earlier in the show, Randy Orton’s mystery phone storyline finally paid off when Pat McAfee was revealed as the man behind the calls. The reveal quickly turned violent, as McAfee blindsided Rhodes and Orton followed up with repeated chair shots, leaving the Undisputed WWE Champion laid out in the ring.
For a while, it looked like Rhodes might be out for the night — but his social media message changed that perception completely.
“I apologize for that
I’d like to respond before the show is over”
That second line is what immediately grabbed attention, as Rhodes made it clear he intends to respond before SmackDown goes off the air. With the show still ongoing at the time of the post, the message strongly suggests Rhodes could return later in the night despite the earlier attack.
With tensions already at a breaking point between Rhodes and Orton heading into WrestleMania 42, the possibility of Rhodes returning before the end of SmackDown adds even more unpredictability to the situation.
Do you think Cody Rhodes will make a surprise return before SmackDown ends tonight, or will WWE save his response for next week? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback in the comments.
