The Rock has been away from WWE television for several months and while people still demand he come back, Cody Rhodes has made it clear The Final Boss shouldn’t have to rush his return.
While speaking to Gabby AF, Cody Rhodes was asked about the possibility of The Rock returning to WWE and why so many fans believe he’s going to show up or that they’re secretly working together.
Cody responded by saying that he always considers The Rock part of WWE because he’s on the board and plays a major role in the company. However, Rhodes stated that right now, The Rock is focused on other things.
The American Nightmare said people should let The Rock have his moment and not rush him back into the ring. With The Rock currently working with director Martin Scorsese on a movie, as well as The Smashing Machine, Cody Rhodes said he’s really giving it his all.
Rhodes said that whether people love or hate The Rock, they should respect his work. From his perspective, it’s best to let The Rock finish what he’s doing before jumping to conclusions.
“I consider him always there, just because he truly is on the board and a big part of our world—a massive part of our world. But I mean, right now, with what he’s doing, I think people need to let him have his moment and not rush him.
He’s working with Scorsese, doing The Smashing Machine—he’s really going for it. And as a wrestler, whether you love him or hate him, you’ve gotta respect that. You see that and think, ‘Hey, let him get this done.’”
Many fans were disappointed that The Rock didn’t appear at WrestleMania 41, especially since Travis Scott showed up and helped John Cena win the Undisputed WWE Title. In fact, the last time fans even saw him was during the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event, where John Cena aligned with the Final Boss.
The Rock’s future in WWE remains uncertain, and as of now, it looks unlikely that the Final Boss will return to WWE television anytime soon. Therefore, fans will have to wait and see if that changes later this year.
