Cody Rhodes is rocking a brand new nickname — and it comes with gold in sight.

After a rough loss at WrestleMania 41, where Rhodes dropped the Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena, The American Nightmare bounced back in a big way. At Night of Champions, Rhodes took down Randy Orton to become the 2025 King of the Ring — and now he’s rolling into SummerSlam with a new title of his own making.

Rhodes has officially started calling himself the “Nightmare King,” blending his signature American Nightmare persona with his latest King of the Ring crown.

The WWE star also posted photos from SmackDown, where he and Orton shared a tense in-ring segment before Drew McIntyre stormed in and interrupted the moment.

Rhodes’ eyes are locked on SummerSlam, where he’ll get a chance to run it back with John Cena — this time with the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line. After losing to Cena earlier this year, the stakes couldn’t be higher as Rhodes looks to reclaim his spot at the top of the mountain.

Cody’s new nickname, the Nightmare King, signals that he’s ready to rewrite his story — and settle unfinished business with Cena.

Is Cody Rhodes set to leave SummerSlam with gold, or will Cena crush the Nightmare King’s comeback? Sound off in the comments and let us know what you think!
