Cody Rhodes has an extraordinary ability to connect with fans since it’s undeniable just how good of a babyface he is, being popular with children all over the world. That’s why it’s no surprise that Cody Rhodes made a special appearance on BBC’s children’s channel, CBeebies for a good reason.
Rhodes was part of the channel’s “Bedtime Stories” series, a daily show where celebrities and public figures read short stories to children just before 7 p.m. local time. On the show, Rhodes said, “Once I’ve started reading, you better believe I’m going to finish the story,” referencing his wrestling career.
Cody Rhodes read a sweet story about a small blue whale named Gigantic, who lives in the ocean with his family. Rhodes noted that Gigantic is much smaller than other whales in his pod, and his big brother Titan teases him about his size. Gigantic becomes friends with a turtle named Myrtle, and they have fun playing in the bay.
One day, Titan tries to show off by doing a big tail spin in shallow water, but he gets stuck on the beach. Myrtle calls all the small sea creatures to help, and they work together to free Titan. Gigantic, though small, uses all his strength and helps save his big brother.
Titan realizes he was wrong to tease Gigantic and promises to be a better brother. He learns that even small things can make a big difference. The story ends with a lesson, which is that it’s not how big or strong you are, but how kind and brave you are that truly matters. Cody Rhodes encouraged everyone to be like Gigantic—brave, kind, and full of heart. Rhodes noted that it’s a perfect bedtime story to leave kids with sweet dreams.
Cody Rhodes’ appearance on CBeebies is a perfect example of his appeal as a family-friendly figure who knows how to connect with children in a meaningful way. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see if he will make more such appearances in future BBC specials, as fans would love for that to happen.
