Cody Rhodes isn’t just the American Nightmare—he’s also apparently the cowboy philosopher of facial hair.

During his Hot Ones interview with Sean Evans, the WWE star was asked for practical advice on mustache maintenance, a nod to his former “Dashing” persona known for over-the-top grooming tips. When asked about the best grooming advice he could give for a mustache, Cody went full western.

“You gotta let it grow. It’s kind of like a horse—you know what I’m saying? You get a mustang out there, you get a horse that’s hard to break—you gotta let it be wild, and then it can be yours.”

He warned fans not to try and shape their mustache too early.

“So don’t overly land it. Let it get out there. Cuz what are you gonna get? Are you gonna get Kurt Russell in Tombstone? Or are you gonna get down here? What are you gonna get? You don’t know. Your follicles aren’t gonna tell you.”

Cody admitted he made that mistake early on and now believes in letting the mustache grow naturally before trying to tame it.

“I tried instantly to contain it—let that be a love stash, man. Let that get out there.”

It was the kind of advice only Cody Rhodes could deliver—with a metaphor, a mustang, and a touch of old-school swagger. His wild take on grooming reminded fans that sometimes, the best style comes from letting things grow wild and seeing where they land.
