Travis Scott may have rocked Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber, but if you ask Cody, he’s just fine—at least, that’s what he wants people to think.

After reports surfaced that Rhodes suffered a burst eardrum and a black eye from Scott’s attack, Conrad Thompson addressed the situation on Eric Bischoff’s 83 Weeks podcast. Thompson revealed that he personally reached out to Cody about the injury, and in true American Nightmare fashion, Rhodes downplayed the whole thing.

“I saw the report earlier this week and I checked on Cody and I was like, ‘Dude, I saw it, but a burst eardrum? Are you okay? Holy [ __ ]!’”

Cody’s response? He insisted Scott “didn’t touch me”, despite sporting a major black eye.

“He replied, ‘Didn’t touch me. I got a wild bruise somehow though,’ and sent me a picture. And I said, ‘Well damn, I’m glad you’re okay mostly.’ And he jokingly said, ‘The Horsemen got me.’”

Thompson wasn’t convinced, though, adding: “I just thought it was funny that Cody even now is like, ‘Ah, he didn’t touch me.’ Now of course, we know that’s not the case—he’s sporting a major black eye right now. And I don’t know if it’s true or not that he burst his eardrum, but buddy, it is a brutal blow that we saw there.”

Despite Rhodes brushing it off, the footage from Elimination Chamber tells a different story. Fans in attendance winced when they heard the thud of Scott’s shot landing on Cody near his ear.

With WrestleMania 41 on the horizon, Cody is set to face John Cena, but with Travis Scott now officially in the mix, things could escalate even further. And if Cody really is more hurt than he’s letting on, this could impact everything.

Is Cody just playing it tough, or is he really trying to cover up a legit injury? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
