Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes may have just welcomed their second child — but Cody says the door isn’t completely closed on expanding the family again.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Rhodes was asked directly whether he and Brandi plan to have another child. Rhodes admitted that while two kids feel like the right number right now, his past experiences have taught him not to rule anything out when it comes to family. While reflecting on how their family grew over time, Rhodes explained that his perspective has already changed more than once.
“Having another? I think it’s a hard definitely not, but it was also a definitely not when we said we weren’t going to have kids. Then we had Liberty.”
Rhodes continued by explaining that even after their first child was born, he initially believed their family was complete: “Then it was definitely not again—one is good. Then it became, how could we not?” Now with two daughters, Rhodes said he’s happy with where things stand but admits the future is impossible to predict.
“So how many? I’m good. It’s not really in my control there. Two is amazing, but who knows? I can’t say definitely not when it comes to that.”
Rhodes and Brandi welcomed their second daughter, Leilani Ella Runnels, in August 2025. Brandi shared the news publicly on social media with a heartfelt message announcing the arrival of their newest family member.
“Welcome to the world Leilani Ella Runnels. We are in love. Thank you God for answered prayers. Cody + Brandi + Libby + Lani = ❤️”
The couple’s first daughter, Liberty, was born in 2021, making the Rhodes family a household of four. While Cody currently says two children feels “amazing,” his comments suggest the family may not be fully closed off to the idea of a third child somewhere down the line. For now, Rhodes appears focused on enjoying life with Brandi, Liberty, and Leilani — while leaving the future open-ended.
