Cody Rhodes had the crowd in the palm of his hand after Friday Night SmackDown—but once the cameras stopped rolling, things got a little… unexpected.

After cutting a heartfelt promo about the legacy of the WWE Championship and name-dropping Seattle’s own DEFY Wrestling promotion, Rhodes decided to give the fans at Climate Pledge Arena a little bonus. The Undisputed WWE Champion stepped out of his three-piece suit, hit the mat, and busted out The Worm.

Yeah, that Worm. The same dance move made famous by Scotty Too Hotty during WWE’s early 2000s era. And Cody went all-in on it, looking like he was channeling a late-night Attitude Era flashback with zero hesitation.

Earlier in the night, Rhodes told the crowd, “I don’t wear a suit because I think I’m somebody. I wear a suit because I want to be somebody.” He also pointed to his now-iconic tattoo as part of his story. But if anyone thought Cody was all business—his post-show antics proved otherwise.

Fans online had mixed reactions to the moment, with some loving Cody’s throwback tribute and others wondering what the hell they just watched. But one thing’s for sure—he’s owning this run in a way few ever have.

Now he’s not just the guy with the belt. He’s the guy who hit The Worm in a Las Vegas jumpsuit in 2025.

What’s your take—was this Cody having fun with the fans or just plain cringe? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
