Cody Deaner Returns at TNA Against All Odds Under New Persona

Cody Deaner made his in-ring return at TNA Against All Odds on June 6, 2025, competing under a masked persona introduced as The Hometown Man.

Deaner teamed with Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, and Leon Slater in an 8-man tag team match against The System—Moose, Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, and JDC—at the Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona.

Although not acknowledged on commentary, it was pretty obvious The Hometown Man was Cody Deaner. The return comes just weeks after Deaner was forced to retire at TNA Under Siege following a career-threatening loss to Eddie Edwards.

Deaner’s team won the match, marking his first in-ring victory since that retirement angle. TNA has not commented on whether The Hometown Man will be a permanent character going forward.
