CM Punk may be enjoying a drama-free WWE run since his 2023 return, but not everyone is convinced the so-called “changed” Punk actually exists.
Former WWE star Maven Huffman isn’t buying the storyline of a softer, more mature Punk — and he’s letting everyone know about it. While reviewing Punk’s segment on WWE Unreal for his YouTube channel, Maven ripped into WWE’s portrayal of a reformed Punk, claiming the entire image is nothing but corporate fluff.
“The new, brand new and improved, lighter side of Punk that Hunter claims he heard over the phone or he met in person and saw and said ‘Hey, let’s give him another shot,’ that’s all bulls**t.”
Even though he dismissed the narrative of Punk changing his ways, Maven wasn’t criticizing the man himself. In fact, he made it clear he likes Punk just the way he is.
“It’s the same dude. But, I didn’t think that dude needed to change anyway.”
Claims from within WWE tell a different story, with some saying Punk is far more level-headed these days. His high-profile AEW exit had skeptics questioning whether he could fit back into WWE’s locker room.
