CM Punk considers himself the best in the world not just inside the squared circle but also on the microphone. There was also a time where he was part of the WWE commentary team and he has now made it clear he doesn’t want to be a commentator again.

While speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Pat McAfee mentioned that he might have to step away from commentary for a while in the future. CM Punk asked who should replace him, and when McAfee suggested that Punk should take over as a commentator, Punk dismissed the idea, saying he would likely be fired within 90 minutes.

The Second City Saint compared the situation to being given a promotion just to be relocated from one firm to another due to causing too much controversy.

“Not again, I’d be fired within the first 90 mins. It’s like one of those promotions where they’re like we’re going to send you over to the New York firms since you caused too much heat here in LA, we’re gonna give you a raise and shuffle you over there.”

CM Punk’s close friend Ace Steel previously claimed that WWE is interested in having Punk on commentary but obviously nothing came of that. Since CM Punk has made it clear he isn’t interested in a commentary role, fans hoping to hear him call matches will have to move on from that idea. Given his history of outspoken and sometimes controversial remarks, it’s not surprising that he feels commentary wouldn’t be the right fit for him in today’s WWE.
