CM Punk Says He Wants to Play The Punisher in a Marvel Movie

CM Punk is no stranger to living life like a comic book hero—and now he’s made it clear exactly which one he’d like to bring to life on the big screen.

During a recent appearance on GQ’s YouTube channel, the WWE superstar and diehard comic fan got real about his dream superhero role. Punk didn’t hesitate when asked which character he’d want to play—and his answer was pure Punisher energy. In true Punk fashion, he threw a bit of attitude into it too.

“I’m CM f*cking Punk, it doesn’t get any more super than that. The Thing wants to be CM Punk. Frank Castle wants to be CM Punk. No, not really. I want to be Frank Castle, The Punisher.”

This isn’t the first time Punk’s aimed for a fan-favorite role. He previously expressed interest in playing Casey Jones in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, proving his love for gritty, rebellious characters runs deep.

While it’s unclear if Marvel is taking notes, Punk’s bold pitch is now out there—and fans are already debating if he’s the perfect fit to wield Frank Castle’s iconic skull-emblazoned vest.

Whether or not Hollywood comes calling, Punk clearly sees himself as larger than life. And judging by his current WWE run, he’s not retiring or slowing down anytime soon.
