CM Punk and Triple H may have once been at odds, but those days are firmly in the rearview mirror.

In an update during his TV Insider interview, Punk opened up about how his relationship with WWE’s top executive has transformed from competitive tension to mutual respect and productive collaboration.

Reflecting on their early days, Punk admitted their past dynamic was far from harmonious, mainly because they were both trying to carve out space as top-tier talents. But with time and perspective, both men have evolved — and now share a common goal in helping shape WWE’s future.

“Between me and Triple H, there is so much more of an understanding. I’ve advanced in my life to a point where I have the perspective I didn’t have before. For him likewise—he has advanced in life to where he has experiences and knowledge he didn’t have before. Me and him, I think we were both on the main roster, and were talented guys. It was more adversarial because we were competition. Now we’re not and are on the same page and want to help the next generation and kind of guide them the right way with their creativity showing through but also producing them. It’s more like, ‘Maybe do it this way and see what happens.’”

Despite the newfound synergy, Punk isn’t rushing to slide into a backstage or executive role just yet. He made it clear that being an active roster member and taking on an office title at the same time would be a conflict — and he’s not ready for that mix.

“Look, I love working with the guy. It’s amazing. It’s really a treat. I think we’ve only scratched the tip of the iceberg. I’m still kind of pumping the brakes on any kind of office title. I don’t want to be office Punk while I’m active main roster wrestler Punk. Those things do not mix. You cannot try to tell somebody else what to do while you are essentially booked in a certain position on the show, in my opinion. I’m stoked being a wrestler, and until I hang my boots up, I’m going to be stoked being a wrestler. I want to do the best I can with the group I have, which are some supremely talented, genius minds for the wrestling business.”

For now, Punk is all-in on wrestling and working with the next generation—but when the time does come to step backstage, it sounds like the door with Triple H is wide open.

CM Punk might be done throwing fists with Triple H, but he’s not ready to sit behind a desk just yet. The respect is there, the chemistry is real—but don’t expect him in a suit and headset while he’s still lacing up boots. For now, Punk is keeping it strictly in the ring, proving he’s not just here for a nostalgia run—he’s here to lead by example, not by corporate title.
