CM Punk is the cover star for WWE 2K26—and now, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion has broken his silence on what the moment means to him.

Following the reveal during the Royal Rumble Kickoff Show, Punk issued a statement reflecting on both the honor of landing the cover and the creative control he had in narrating this year’s Showcase Mode.

“As a kid, I could only dream of being on the cover of a video game. Now I join a very exclusive group of WWE Superstars who have done it twice.”

WWE 2K26 marks Punk’s return to the front of the box for the first time since WWE ’13—and this time, he’s more involved than ever before.

“I enjoyed the experience of narrating the 2K Showcase, which gave me an opportunity to tell fans the straight, unfiltered story of the moments, matches, and controversies in my career. Players will get to step into my boots, relive some of my proudest WWE moments, and take on challenges I never had the opportunity to face.”

According to Dealabs Magazine, Punk’s Showcase Mode will let players relive pivotal chapters from his WWE journey—from the infamous 2011 pipebomb and his 434-day title reign, to his headline-grabbing return in 2023.

The game is officially set to launch on Friday, March 13, 2026, just weeks ahead of WrestleMania 42, and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

With CM Punk not only fronting the cover but guiding players through his legacy in Showcase Mode, WWE 2K26 is shaping up to be a deeply personal return for one of WWE’s most polarizing icons.
