CM Punk is embracing his dark side—and loving every second of it.

In a recent interview with Josh Wilding, the WWE Superstar and Night Patrol star opened up about what made playing a villain so fun in the action-horror film. Punk didn’t just enjoy the power trip—he argued that villains often steal the show because they’re simply cooler than the good guys.

While talking about his role as the vampire Deputy, Punk admitted he was thrilled just to be a part of the project—let alone get paid for it.He then broke down exactly why the bad guys tend to be more iconic:

“That’s one of those where you’re looking around like, I would do this for free, but they’re paying me. So it’s a win for me. Yeah, it’s just a lot of fun.”

“There’s something about villains that I think are—you know, villains are more often times, for lack of a better word, sexier than the good guys. You know, like the villains get to do fun stuff. The villains got the better weapons, the better outfits. You know, Cobra’s cooler than G.I. Joe.”

But this isn’t just a story about cool costumes and chaos. Punk pointed out that Night Patrol flips the script entirely by exploring what villainy really means—and forcing the audience to look deeper.

“This movie really kind of turns that on its side and explores it. Like, who really are the villains here?”

Whether in the ring or on the big screen, CM Punk clearly knows how to take control of a narrative—and challenge fans to think while being entertained.
