CM Punk doesn’t just think he’s still got it — he believes he’s never been better. The former WWE Champion is staring down another title shot, and even at 47, he’s convinced this current run is his peak.

In a new interview with KSL News Utah, Punk made it clear that age isn’t slowing him down — if anything, it’s adding fuel to the fire.

“I’m fortunate that I’m continuing to level up in this business. I just turned 47 the other day, and some people would say that’s a detriment; I think it’s one of the more positive things about me. I’m ‘this old’ and operating on this level, doing what to me is the best work of my career.”

The “Second City Saint” is back in the world title picture after having the championship snatched from him in brutal fashion at SummerSlam. After dethroning GUNTHER in a hard-hitting battle, Punk’s celebration was cut short when Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to walk out with the gold.

Now Punk is set to collide with Jey Uso this Saturday night in Salt Lake City at Saturday Night’s Main Event, with the vacant World Heavyweight Championship on the line. It’s a second chance for Punk — and possibly his final run at the top of WWE’s mountain.

Also on the card, Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre in a match loaded with personal stakes and championship implications.

At 47, Punk is proving age doesn’t have to be a setback — and he’s ready to make history again.
