CM Punk is riding high after his face-to-face showdown with Roman Reigns on WWE Raw — and he’s already staking his claim as the reason it worked so well.

During The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, Punk addressed the growing fan sentiment that Roman Reigns’ promo on Monday night in Philadelphia may have been the best of his career. Punk didn’t exactly disagree — he just made sure to remind everyone who was standing across the ring.

“Imagine that, in the ring with CM Punk, bringing the best out of guys. Yeah, I’ve heard that before.”

The segment closed out Raw and set the tone for their WrestleMania 42 main event, with fans and pundits praising both stars for their presence, tension, and history-filled jabs. Punk, in full character, continued building the narrative throughout his McAfee appearance.

“When you look at who is the biggest names in the industry, the top two are CM Punk and Roman Reigns, so you want to see them in the biggest event, in the main event, at WrestleMania. So, we’re here now.”

Interestingly, Punk admitted he wasn’t certain Reigns would pick him as his opponent after winning the Royal Rumble.

“I wasn’t sure he was going to pick me. I thought he might pick Drew because I do legitimately believe Drew is the easier choice.”

With WrestleMania 42 on the horizon, Punk is already turning up the psychological warfare. He’s not just promoting a match—he’s claiming the spotlight before the bell even rings.

Do you think CM Punk actually brought the best out of Roman Reigns? Or was Reigns simply on another level regardless of his opponent? Sound off in the comments and let us know where you stand.
