CM Punk has now addressed Paul Heyman betraying him by siding with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 41 earlier this year.

While speaking on Comicbook Nation, CM Punk was asked about Paul Heyman betraying him, especially considering their long friendship and how personal the situation felt. Reflecting on it, Punk admitted it wasn’t the first time Heyman had turned on him, joking that he should’ve learned his lesson by now but tends to have a short memory.

“Uh, well, it’s not the first time Paul’s double-crossed me, so you’d think I would’ve learned my lesson by now. But I’m one of those good guys with short-term memory, apparently.”

The Second City Saint went on to say that everything he’s doing now in wrestling feels like a bonus, something extra and fulfilling. It’s a dream come true for him, and even though he doesn’t know when his run will end, he’s determined to make the most of it.

Working with some of the best minds, speakers, and wrestlers in the industry has been a rejuvenating experience. He mentioned names like Paul Heyman, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins, saying they bring out the best in him and he believes he does the same for them. In the end, he’s truly enjoying everything he’s doing right now in wrestling.

“No, but seriously, everything I’m doing on screen, on television, wrestling-wise now—it’s like extra credit. It’s a dream come true. I don’t know when the roller coaster ride ends for me, but I want to squeeze as much out of it as I can.

Being able to work with the top talkers, wrestlers, minds in the industry—it’s rejuvenated me as a whole. Anytime I get to work with Paul, Roman, even Seth—guys like that—they tend to bring the best out of me. And in turn, I feel like I bring the best out of them. It’s been a trip. I’m really enjoying everything I’m doing.”

CM Punk’s still feuding with Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed for the time being. While he has a huge title match against GUNTHER at SummerSlam, we’ll have to see how WWE will continue to book Punk’s feud with Heyman in the coming weeks. After all, there will definitely be a lot of twists and turns along the way.
