CJ Perry has officially turned the page on her hard-partying WWE lifestyle—and she’s doing it with complete clarity. During a deep conversation on her Identity Crisis podcast with Sonya Deville, the former Lana opened up about walking away from alcohol completely after years of wild road stories and the pressure of keeping up appearances.

It all came out after the two women were laughing about a night in Europe where Sonya had to carry CJ back to her hotel room because she couldn’t even stand. That moment turned into a reflection of how far CJ has come.

“Yeah, that was definitely my life back then. Like, I kind of blame Total Divas and, you know, road life — like, drinking so much. But yeah, I was like, I don’t drink at all anymore.”

Sonya immediately asked, “Are you sober?” CJ confirmed, “I’m sober. Completely — like, for I guess five months now.” Sonya responded with full support, “Oh my God, I’m so proud of you.” CJ thanked her, adding, “Thank you.” Then Sonya asked how sobriety feels, “Do you feel amazing?” CJ replied, “I do.”

Sonya complimented her glow-up, saying, “You look amazing.” CJ responded with a smile, “Oh my God, thank you.” Sonya kept the praise coming:

“When I walked in today, I was like, you’re glowing. You just look stunning. You look so in your element.”

CJ then opened up about her mental health and why she often vanishes from social media, calling it part of her wellness process:

“Thank you. I have crazy dips at times, like crazy. Mental health has definitely been a journey for me. And so when I have those, I’m like, you know what, I gotta — I’m going to just step away from things that might give me FOMO or might make me feel like I’m comparing to other people. I’m on my own journey.”

Sonya called her mindset powerful, “Wow, that’s so real. Nobody says it like that, and that’s exactly what it is.” CJ wrapped it up by calling out the dark side of constant scrolling and false comparison:

“And it’s so toxic sometimes. Like, it’s so easy to just sit there and swipe and scroll for hours, and your entire image of reality and what people are doing is completely modified from what it really is.”

CJ Perry isn’t just rewriting her relationship with alcohol—she’s reclaiming her time, her mental health, and her future. She’s walking into a new chapter of her life with purpose, discipline, and boundaries—something you don’t always see coming out of the pro wrestling bubble.
