Christopher Daniels might be calling it quits—for now. The veteran wrestler confirmed on AEW Dynamite that he is officially retired from in-ring competition after doctors advised him to step away following his brutal Texas Death Match loss to Hangman Page on Collision. While Daniels’ in-ring career appears to be over, there’s already speculation that this retirement won’t last forever.

During Dynamite, Daniels made his retirement clear, but his comments left some questions unanswered. “I hope you’re happy,” Daniels said, looking directly at Hangman Page, who seemed conflicted about what had just unfolded.

Despite this being planned as Daniels’ last match, Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer reported that this could all be part of a bigger story. “I’ve had people say to me that he’s not wrestling again for now, but they’re shooting an angle and he may wrestle again later,” Meltzer said. “But, you know, there’s definitely an angle that this is all turning into. That much I know.”

Daniels has spent over 30 years in the business, becoming one of the most respected names in professional wrestling. But if history has taught fans anything, retirement in wrestling rarely sticks. Legends like Ric Flair, Mick Foley, and Terry Funk all laced up their boots again after stepping away, and it looks like Daniels could eventually do the same.

For now, Christopher Daniels is retired, but if Meltzer’s sources are correct, this might not be the last time fans see him inside the squared circle. And as for Curry Man? His status remains a mystery.
