WWE fans hoping for a Chris Jericho appearance in Montreal this weekend are in for a letdown.
According to PWInsider on January 21, 2026, talk began heating up about Jericho potentially showing up on SmackDown on January 23 or Saturday Night’s Main Event in Montreal on January 24 this weekend. Given his Canadian roots and free agent status after reportedly finishing his AEW deal on December 31, fans had reason to get excited. But don’t count on seeing “The Ocho” at the Bell Centre.
“Jericho is advertised to perform this Friday 1/23 at The Anaheim Arena at JAMM Night,” PWInsider reported. “A free concert slated as part of this year's National Association of Music Merchants gathering.”
Jericho will be in Los Angeles all weekend long for NAMM, a music industry event that lines up directly with his commitments to Fozzy’s Eyes On You tour—making it virtually impossible for him to fly to Canada for WWE.
"We are told Jericho is expected to be at NAMM for the remainder of the weekend, so unless there's a last second change, he'll be in the Los Angeles area, not at Smackdown or SNME."
This news effectively rules out a surprise SmackDown appearance. However, it doesn’t kill WWE rumors altogether. Jericho is technically a free agent right now, and speculation about a Royal Rumble return in Saudi Arabia on January 31 is still alive—just don’t expect anything sooner.
At 55, Jericho isn’t slowing down. Between his live concerts, NAMM appearances, and ongoing tour preparations, he’s got a full schedule—and for now, none of that includes WWE TV.
What do you think—should Chris Jericho come back for one last WWE run? Or is it better if he stays on the road with Fozzy? Drop your thoughts below and let us know where you want to see him next.
