Fans holding out hope for a surprise return from Chris Jericho on WWE RAW today might want to pump the brakes.
Despite swirling rumors about Jericho’s WWE future, reports now confirm that as of show day, there are no creative plans for the former world champion to appear on the January 12, 2026 episode of Monday Night RAW. The episode is airing live from the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany — but Jericho isn’t even in the country.
PWInsiderElite reports that Jericho is currently in the United States and has not been factored into the live plans for WWE’s flagship show. This marks the second straight week he’s been left out of RAW’s creative direction, even as speculation around his wrestling future continues to heat up.
The buzz kicked off when Raw General Manager Adam Pearce dropped a cryptic “break down the walls” reference in a post last week — a direct callback to Jericho’s iconic WWE entrance theme. That led to fans speculating that Jericho, whose AEW contract was believed to have expired at the end of 2025, might be on his way back to WWE.
Jericho didn’t appear on the January 5 RAW from Brooklyn either, and sources had already indicated he wasn’t discussed in creative meetings for that show either.
As of now, Jericho remains listed on the official AEW roster, despite persistent rumors that he may have quietly agreed to a WWE return. Others believe he could even show up for TNA Wrestling, given WWE’s recent working relationship with the company — and with TNA’s AMC premiere airing this Thursday, some fans are keeping their eyes peeled there instead.
Jericho’s last WWE appearance dates back to April 2018 at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. With AJ Styles vs. GUNTHER and a CM Punk appearance already locked in for RAW tonight, it looks like Jericho won’t be crashing the party just yet.
