WWE set the internet on fire with a Chris Jericho tease ahead of tonight’s January 5, 2026 edition of Monday Night RAW — and now we’ve got a real-time update on where things stand.
According to PWInsider, no one within WWE has confirmed that Jericho is in New York City for RAW — at least, not yet.
“We have heard from no one in WWE who believes Chris Jericho will be there tonight live in NYC as of this writing.”
Jericho is still listed on AEW’s active roster page, despite his reported contract expiring on December 31. But with WWE deliberately fueling speculation, some believe he could still be hidden — especially with the company looking to spike ticket sales for its first RAW of the year streaming on Netflix.
The hype all started when WWE GM Adam Pearce dropped this loaded line during a promo hyping tonight’s show:
“There are also three massive championship matches on the card. Who will break down the walls and walk out with gold?”
The phrase “break down the walls” is Jericho’s signature — and Dave Meltzer confirmed in the Wrestling Observer Daily Update that it was no accident:
“They are definitely pushing for a big walk-up because Adam Pearce talked about breaking down the walls, on purpose, which fuels the idea Chris Jericho is returning.”
Jericho hasn’t appeared in AEW since April 2025, and skipped Worlds End on December 31. That same night, he was livestreaming on YouTube. During a Christmas stream with The Winnipeggers, fans asked him about WWE — he didn’t confirm or deny, only saying: “You never know. You never know.”
So far, WWE hasn’t confirmed anything — and no one backstage has openly said he’s there. But in pro wrestling, silence sometimes says more than words.
Do you think Jericho shows up tonight on RAW? Or is WWE just using his legacy to keep fans guessing? Sound off in the comments.
