Chris Jericho Sparks WWE Return Speculation After “Liking” Instagram Post

Chris Jericho’s been away from AEW television for the past few months and while there’s no indication he’ll be back soon, he did create speculation after liking an Instagram post about returning to WWE.

A post by j.m.playground on Instagram pointed out that Chris Jericho’s current AEW contract will expire in December this year and that he’s open to a WWE return depending on the situation. The account simply asked fans whether Jericho would make his WWE return in 2026, saying, “Will Chris Jericho make his WWE return in 2026?”

The most interesting part of this whole situation is that Chris Jericho actually “liked” the Instagram post, instantly creating a ton of speculation that he might just go back to WWE next. Fans in the comments were obviously shocked at Jericho’s actions, as one even pointed out what Jericho did, saying, “Holy *hit guys, Jericho has just liked this very post.”

This comes after Chris Jericho previously admitted that he would consider returning to WWE one day, as he didn’t really want to leave anything off the table in the future.

Chris Jericho has been absent since the April 9 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he completely lost it in a wild segment with Bryan Keith and Big Bill. It is to be noted that Jericho is free to return whenever he wants to, but now it remains to be seen if that’ll even happen or whether he will just go back to WWE. After all, anything is possible in pro wrestling and fans are now waiting to see if a WWE return will be in the works in 2026.
