Chris Jericho has just landed a major television role while he remains absent from AEW television — and he’s not playing the good guy.

The AEW star took to Instagram on March 16, 2026 to announce that he will appear as the main villain in an upcoming episode of the CBS hit series Tracker. Jericho shared the news with fans while promoting the episode, which is set to air Sunday night.

In the post, Jericho revealed that he’ll be playing a character named Virgil Dean and teased that viewers shouldn’t expect him to be friendly. The episode, titled “Breakaway,” stars Justin Hartley alongside Fiona Rene, David Paul Ramsey and Erica Durance, with David Barrett directing the installment.

“Stoked to announce I’ll be playing the lead bad guy on this Sunday’s episode of @trackercbs, the NUMBER ONE SHOW on network tv!!! The episode is called #Breakaway starring @justinhartley, @fionarene, @davidpaulramsey & @durance.erica and was directed by #DavidBarrett! I play #VirgilDean and let’s just say, he’s not a nice guy. Can’t wait for you all to see it, THIS SUNDAY at 9pm EST on @cbstv & @paramountplus!”

Jericho has taken on acting roles in the past, appearing in films and television projects over the years, but landing the main villain role on one of network TV’s biggest shows marks another worthwhile credit for the veteran performer.

The announcement also comes shortly after Jericho created some nostalgia among wrestling fans when he briefly brought back his famous “List of Jericho” gimmick during a fan event appearance earlier this month. While Jericho remains under contract with AEW, his latest acting role shows that his career outside the ring continues to expand as well.
