Chelsea Green Wants WWE Run With Matt Cardona to Be Dirty, Sexy & Attitude Era-Inspired

Chelsea Green has never been shy about bringing the drama to WWE, and now she’s teasing something even spicier—teaming up with real-life husband Matt Cardona in a storyline straight out of the Attitude Era playbook.

During a recent interview with SHAK Wrestling, Green was asked how she would want to be paired with Cardona on-screen if the chance came. Rather than pitching a traditional power couple angle, she leaned all the way in on shock value, nostalgia, and some over-the-top PDA.

“Oh my gosh. I mean, I struggle with that all the time because obviously I’m currently with Ethan and my Tripa mix tag team—Ethan Page and Chelsea Green. So, you know, there’s always like a… am I with… like, are we in a big group? Or—I don’t know. But I—I would love if Matt and I were together to really bring back the nasty Attitude Era couple. Like just dirty and like ew. You're like, ‘They’re kind of cool, but like why are they making out like that?’ Like, you know what I mean? Just like Lita and Edge… and just like… you know… like stuff like that.”

When the interviewer joked about how far Edge and Lita took it on WWE TV, Chelsea didn’t flinch. Green explained that nostalgia is one of the strongest tools in wrestling, and leaning into a relationship fans already know can make things even more compelling.

“And we love it. And we love it. We’re still talking about it. The nostalgia runs so deep in WWE. And one thing that fans love is a storyline that’s like… brought back to life. They love to feel like they’re in on it. Um, and like they already know what’s going to happen or they—they can relate to it already. And so I think like a good Attitude Era couple would be great.”

While nothing is confirmed for a future on-screen pairing between Green and Cardona, her vision is clear: shock the system, make people uncomfortable, and leave fans talking.

Chelsea knows exactly how to push boundaries, and if WWE ever pulls the trigger on this power couple reunion, fans might just get that chaotic energy they’ve been craving.
