Chelsea Green is living her dream—but she’s got another dream waiting in the wings.
In a new interview with Woman’s World, the former WWE Women’s United States Champion revealed that she and husband Matt Cardona have put their plans to start a family on pause following her WWE return.
Green, who’s been on a roll since rejoining WWE in January 2023, explained that the opportunity to come back to the company was too big to pass up—even if it meant delaying motherhood.
“We put it on pause when I was asked to come back to WWE. This was an opportunity we both knew we could not turn down. If I turn it down, I’m going to end up having kids and resent the family life.”
The 34-year-old star made it clear that both she and Cardona want children and that the desire to start a family hasn’t gone away—she’s just fully focused on her wrestling career right now.
“So here I am. I’m 34. I’m dying for babies. My husband wants babies… but duty calls. I’m making money. I’m living my dream.”
Still, Green isn’t ruling anything out in the near future. If it happens, she’s ready to roll with it.
“But hey, you never know. In a couple months, if it happens, God willing, it happens. I’ll just have to take my babies on the road with me!”
Meanwhile, Matt Cardona—who has been working the independent scene and making waves outside WWE—recently made his in-ring return to the company, appearing on the October 14 episode of NXT in a match against Josh Briggs. The appearance has only fueled speculation about whether Cardona could be heading back full-time.
For now, Chelsea Green is balancing success, spotlight, and sacrifice—and doing it with full transparency.
