Chelsea Green is taking her talents from the wrestling ring to the movie set. The WWE star has landed a role in the upcoming comedy-adventure “We Could Be Heroes,” adding another acting credit to her resume.
According to Deadline, Green is part of an ensemble cast that also includes Ron Perlman, Peter Facinelli, Mark Elias, Serena Wang, Humberly Gonzalez, Damian Romeo, Sean Benson, Pat Roach and Jason Mewes.
The film, which filmed in Ontario, Canada, centers on an unlikely wannabe detective who gets pulled into a real mystery after a young gamer asks for help recovering her stolen gaming rig. What starts as a simple favor quickly turns into something much bigger. Director Paul Emami explained that while the movie leans heavily into comedy, there is more going on underneath the surface.
“We Could Be Heroes is ultimately a story about ordinary people finding themselves in extraordinary circumstances. There is a lot of comedy in the film, but underneath that is a story about friendship, courage and discovering that you may be capable of more than you ever imagined.”
Mark Elias, who stars as Miles Bernstein and also wrote the screenplay, said the goal was to make something fun and accessible while tapping into gaming culture.
“We wanted to make a movie that is entertaining, funny and completely accessible, while also tapping into a world that has become a huge part of modern culture. The characters are definitely not traditional heroes, which is exactly what makes their journey so much fun.”
Emami is directing and producing the movie alongside Elias, with Hank White, Ivan Williams, Mauricio Arrioja and Natalie Dale also serving as producers. The production is being produced under Golden Boy, LLC.
Green has previously spoken about pursuing acting opportunities outside WWE, including an earlier Baywatch audition, and now she has another Hollywood project locked in.
Chelsea Green has never been shy about expanding beyond wrestling, and “We Could Be Heroes” gives her another chance to do exactly that. With an established cast around her and production already deep into filming, Green’s latest move puts her in a completely different spotlight.
