Piper Niven has been out of action since suffering a serious neck injury last September, and while her future in the ring remains uncertain, one of her closest friends in WWE is offering a hopeful outlook.
During a recent appearance on The Ghost of Hollywood, Chelsea Green opened up about Niven’s absence and how much she and their group miss having her around. Green spoke candidly about the impact Niven has both inside and outside the locker room, describing her as someone who helps hold the group together. Green explained that both she and Alba Fyre have been feeling Niven’s absence in a big way while she continues recovering at home.
“We obviously – Alba and I – are missing Piper so much. I feel like she's a connective tissue between all of us. She's such a mother figure, but also so fun and playful, and she's so easy-going.”
While Niven remains sidelined, Green said the WWE star has been focusing on recovery and spending time with her family and pets while she heals.
“So we really, really miss her, but she's at home, she's resting with her husband and her dogs and her cats, and I feel like when she comes back, she's not only gonna be healed physically but also emotionally and mentally.”
Green also spoke about the physical and mental toll that professional wrestling can take on performers. According to her, Niven has poured everything into her career for years without slowing down, and this unexpected break could ultimately benefit her long-term. Even with uncertainty surrounding the severity of the neck injury, Green’s comments suggest she believes Niven will eventually return to the wrestling world in some capacity.
In the meantime, Green has continued competing alongside Alba Fyre as part of their faction, which she calls the “Secret Hervice.” Green also noted that their chemistry goes back more than a decade to when they first crossed paths wrestling in Japan, something she believes makes their partnership today even stronger.
For now, the WWE locker room continues to wait for Niven’s recovery, while her friends remain hopeful that the powerful Scottish star will eventually find her way back to the ring.
