Nia Jax found herself at the center of controversy again after injuring Jade Cargill on the September 26 episode of WWE SmackDown.
During a triple threat match, Jax drove Cargill into the steel steps with such force that it busted her open, leading to an outpouring of outrage from fans online.
But Chelsea Green isn’t staying silent. The former Women’s United States Champion jumped on Twitter to defend Jax against the critics who’ve labeled her unsafe and even called for her to be fired from WWE.
“The internet not knowing that Nia is one of the best is the biggest travesty. We’re lucky to have her as a locker room leader.”
Green’s message comes after fans flooded social media with outrage, accusing Jax of recklessness and claiming she continues to put other superstars in harm’s way. This isn’t the first time Jax has been the subject of these kinds of complaints, but this particular incident with Jade Cargill reignited old conversations about her track record in the ring.
As for Cargill, she has since confirmed that she’s doing okay despite how graphic the injury appeared on television. The visual alone was enough to make some fans squeamish, with many questioning whether the move was necessary.
While the heat on Nia Jax continues to build, Chelsea Green’s show of support may shift some perspectives—at least backstage.
