Chelsea Green Calls Back 2014 Brie Bella Segment After Royal Rumble Return

Brie Bella made a surprise return at the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble in Riyadh, but the reaction that caught fans off guard didn’t come from the crowd—it came from Chelsea Green.

Moments after Brie entered the match at #29 and reunited with sister Nikki in the ring, Chelsea took to X/Twitter to post a message that dug deep into her own WWE past:

“I’ve been waiting for this moment for 12 years.”

The post included a throwback photo from Chelsea’s very first WWE appearance where she was cast as the massage therapist in a storyline involving Bryan Danielson (Brie’s real-life husband). The 2014 segment took place during a feud between Danielson and Stephanie McMahon, and Chelsea was portrayed as a planted distraction meant to spark jealousy and drama between Danielson and Brie.

At the time, the scene didn’t amount to much in terms of career momentum for Chelsea—but now, over a decade later, both women found themselves in the same Royal Rumble ring, this time as fully developed WWE stars.

Brie returned to a huge ovation at Riyadh Season Stadium, firing off Yes Kicks and getting deafening “YES!” chants from the crowd—an obvious tribute to her husband, even if Michael Cole kept things coded on commentary with, “You know who he’s paying homage to.” The moment turned personal for Chelsea in the best way, bringing her full circle from side-character to center-stage competitor.
