Charlotte Flair knows fans have complained for years about her always being in the WWE title picture—but now she’s laying out exactly why that’s never changing.
In a new interview on the Strong New York Podcast, the 14-time Women’s Champion didn’t dodge the criticism. Instead, she owned it and made it clear that her presence in the championship scene isn’t by accident—it’s because she brings something real every time she steps into the ring.
“I think there is a level of believability when I’m in there. But also because I believe that I’m the best. Not even just that — you can feel like the moment is important.”
Flair admitted she knows the criticism is out there, especially from fans who feel she’s been overused in the title scene. But for her, it’s all about what the championship means—and she makes sure it feels like the biggest deal every time she wrestles.
“That’s why I was always hypothetically in the title picture. Which has always been a fan critique, because of the importance I put on the title from my character standpoint. Like, that’s supposed to be the most important thing.”
She explained that when she competes, there’s a physical and emotional shift that not every wrestler can replicate.
“Also, when I wrestle, I think there is a gear change in me that looks believable. And I think that’s hard — not everyone has that.”
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss recently dropped the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles to the Kabuki Warriors, but it’s clear Flair isn’t about to step back from the spotlight anytime soon. Whether she’s holding gold or chasing it, the Queen believes her presence alone raises the bar.
Love her or hate her, Charlotte Flair continues to be one of the most dominant forces in WWE history. And if she keeps making the title feel like the most important prize in the company, it’s hard to argue she doesn’t belong in that picture.
